Olga Kilstein, MACFT, LPC
My professional life started in public accounting and consulting with government organizations, hospitals, universities and schools. As my horizons expanded, I recognized my interest in systems, relationships, and human connections. I left corporate world to pursue a Masters degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Adler University. I completed my degree in 2013.
I bring it all into my therapy room. I see therapy as your training wheels, as you experimental space, as your trial and error. We will learn skills and you will develop a tool box to deal with whatever you decide we need to work on, but more importantly you will experiment and experience. It will be hard, but very rewarding. It will be moving and changing. I will be there to support you and your goals.
I consider myself an experiential psycho-dynamic therapist with particular interest in integration of spirituality and psychology. In practice this means that I see human experience as physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual. In sessions I invite the client to process human experience through all of its forms. I also believe in practicing uncomfortable experiences and growth in the safety of the therapy office, getting a good handle on your new skills, making things happen in the room, so you can successfully implement your new approaches outside the room.
"In my early professional years I was asking the question: How can I treat, or cure, or change this person? Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?" --Carl Rogers
